Your SEPTA Key card can also work as a prepaid Mastercard debit card if you choose to load money on your card to spend on retail transactions such as groceries, food, clothing, or paying bills -- everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. Your Mastercard debit money is kept separate from your SEPTA fare products and Travel wallet so you don't have to worry about overspending. If you choose to use the optional Mastercard debit feature of your card, some fees will apply. PLEASE NOTE: You can upgrade your Instant Card to an Instant Plus Card, which allows additional functionalities without needing to replace the physical Card. The Instant Plus Card has additional capabilities of cash reload and ATM withdrawals. To request an Instant Plus SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard, you must contact Customer Service at 1-855-567-3782. See Cardholder Agreement for complete details. But rest assured, there are never any fees to use your SEPTA Key card for SEPTA Travel.

It is free to load money on your card with Direct Deposit of your Payroll and/or Government check. You can sign up for Direct Deposit at the same time you sign up for a Personalized SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard, or add it to your Personalized SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard at any time.

Online for Free* with a Bank Account Transfer.

Load your Personalized SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard by transferring funds to your card from your checking or saving account for free. Sign in to your account to arrange a "Bank to Card Transfer."

At Participating Retailers.

You can load
your SEPTA Key card, at any participating retail agent location such as MoneyGram^® in the greater Philadelphia area. Retailers charge a fee to load prepaid cards, and fees vary between $2.95-$4.95. Click here At Participating Retailers. to find your nearest location.

Simplify with Direct Deposit.

Get access to your money by having your Payroll or Government check directly deposited to your Mastercard debit card account. Direct Deposit is free* and we complete the paperwork for you. You can enter your Direct Deposit information at the same time you sign up for a Personalized SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard, or come back and add it to your Personalized SEPTA Key Prepaid Mastercard at any time.
